waiiiit....but Riley isn't Jewish - is this going to be a Jewish wedding?
Right, but Natalia is, so yes. Riley will smash a glass and there will be a huppa.
Is this a desert wedding?
Yeah, duh, it's in the desert... However, keep in mind that because of the location, this will be a non-traditional type of wedding. Probably unlike most weddings you've been to. This will mostly be a celebration of ~ love ~ and Riley and Natalia will get hitched in the middle of the party, smash a glass, and then return to partying. There will be no formal, traditional, walk-down-the-aisle type of ceremony, no long speeches, no formal sit-down dinner.
ok cool I can make it, what is the best way to get to Twentynine Palms for the wedding?
The closest airports to Joshua Tree/Twentynine Palms are Los Angeles (LAX) (2.5-3 hrs drive) Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) (1-1.5 hr drive). From there, renting a car is the most convenient option to reach Joshua Tree National Park.
ugh. why are you having a wedding in the desert?
Joshua Tree, aka Twentynine Palms, aka The High Desert, is a magical place that has brought Riley and Natalia many good memories. They can't wait to share the ~desert vibes~ with you.
ok that checks out - what's the weather situation like in Joshua Tree in May?
In May, Joshua Tree typically experiences warm and sunny weather with average temperatures ranging from 75°F to 90°F (24°C to 32°C) during the day and cooler temperatures in the evening. However, it's always a good idea to check the forecast closer to the date for any updates. #expecttheunexpected
what kind of refreshments should I expect at this wedding?
Food. Good food. Food from food trucks. Food trucks in California > food trucks anywhere else. Sorry, not sorry. And, you're gonna eat all of it and love it. And drinks? yes all of em - including H20.
We'll have the following food trucks on site:
TBA
what's the plan for after the reception?
for us or for you?
JK - there will be an after party likely until the sun comes up. have you ever seen a sunrise in Joshua Tree? it's magical
i'm coming to the wedding but i'm also coming earlier/staying later to explore, is there anything else going on besides your wedding on Joshua Tree?
You bet there is - refer to the 'things to do' page.
what's one thing you want more than anything in this world??
for you to toggle over to the 'registry' tab and donate. It's for a good cause.
how do i get to the wedding venue?
there will be a shuttle service picking up and dropping off from: the Holiday Inn and the Ramsey 29 Motel. you can also uber. driving your own car is not recommended, if you're imbibin'. keep in mind that the venue is "off-road" meaning dirt roads lead you there. Miss the shuttle? No problem, there are plenty of hammocks and places to pitch a tent to rest your head.
what do i wear?
the theme is "desert chic". ok....what? check out: https://pin.it/5vKTGkfHf
